Dr. Billy Mendoza received advanced training at the Center for the Partially Sighted in Downtown Los Angeles, where he worked with patients experiencing severe vision loss due to late-stage eye diseases. Through this experience, he learned to help individuals regain visual independence using specialized optics. This foundation, combined with training in children’s hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and emergency eye care, allows us to provide expert solutions for patients of all ages and vision needs.

A Marvel Fan at Heart

Dr. Mendoza’s love for storytelling and creativity is reflected in his admiration for Marvel. One of his most unforgettable experiences was meeting Stan Lee, the legendary creator of some of the world’s most beloved superheroes. Despite his global fame, Stan Lee was humble, kind, and sincere—a reminder that greatness comes with gratitude and respect for others. His influence is part of Falcon Vision’s spirit: to approach each patient with care, understanding, and the belief that everyone deserves to see their world clearly.

In Dr. Mendoza’s words: “When I met Stan Lee, it was a shock and I was frozen! I wasn’t sure if it was him but once he spoke there was no denying that voice- it was him indeed! He walked in with normal clothes, unassuming, quiet and to himself. He was not bold nor did he demand attention with his chest out and chin high. He was very modest and grateful and called me “sir.” He thanked everyone for their time as he walked back into his old Ford. The greatest writer of our time stepped foot into the clinic and was very much a normal and kind soul. There were so many questions I wished I had asked him, but I was so nervous that I even forgot my name! (Yes it does happen). “Where did you get these ideas 50 nearly 50 years ago?” “The things you wrote about back then are problems society is facing today, how did you know?” “Is there any advise you’d give me?” My only take away from him is that you can be great, and recognized around the world, yet kind and sincere to everyone you meet. Thank you Mr. Stan Lee.”
